What do you normally check after a major Rust update?

Whenever Rust gets a major update, I see people immediately asking whether every third-party tool still works.

But what is the best way to check the actual status?

Do you wait for an official provider update, look for release notes or check the supported game version?

I feel like old screenshots and random comments aren't particularly useful when the game itself has changed.

Release notes first. That's the easiest way to understand what's actually changed.

I'd rather wait for documented compatibility than assume something works because someone commented "working".

lol exactly. One random comment is not a compatibility report.

Check the date of the last update too. Some websites leave old product pages untouched for months.

Does a game patch always break third-party software?

No, not necessarily. It depends on what changed and how the software interacts with the game. But compatibility should be confirmed rather than assumed.
